Ribbon Frosting Cupcake

Lately I've been getting tired of frosting cupcakes the same old way so I did a little research on Pintrest and looked at some cake decorating techniques; once I found this one I fell in love! I wasn't sure how it would turn out on a cupcake but I absolutely love it. This cupcake would be so adorable for a bridal shower or a little girl's party. Now after doing this technique I'm feeling a bit brave and I have the urge to try this on an actual cake, if I do I'll be sure to post it! For this tutorial I made a video because I feel that it is easier to see the technique. I hope you enjoy, happy baking!

What you will need:
-Wilton tip 104
-Stiff frosting (My frosting was not stiff enough which made it look a bit droopy)
-A pretty tea saucer
-Decoration of your choice

Step 1: Place tip at the bottom of the cupcake, next while applying pressure to the bag begin piping the icing in a zig-zag upward motion, remember to keep the tip close to the cupcake while doing this. Once you have reached the top of the cupcake you can release the bag and start on the next ribbon.
Step 2: Once the whole cupcake is frosted pipe in zig-zag motion along the top of the cupcake until the cupcake is fully frosted.
Step 3: Decorate! I did a bad job at decorating with the pearls but I did fix them for the picture:)
